I don't know if people even use this ng for communication anymore, but just
in case...
I'm starting to get into Foetus, only fully listened to Gash so far since
it's the easiest & cheapest to come by. I've read some reviews and heard
sound bytes of older Foetus, and I'd welcome recommendations and/or
overviews on these and other industrial bands from this period & style. Or
even webzines with a wealth of reviews & info.
For years I've been listening to dark ambient/post-industrial (projects like
Lustmord, Biosphere, and those found on the Cold Meat roster). Only recently
am I becoming more interested in more mainstream, beat-oriented industrial,
but I still like it to be non-danceable & somewhat experimental. The only
albums I've found so far that satisfy this particular craving are Skinny
Puppy's Too Dark Park & Last Rights (and now potentially Foetus). I'm not
interested in the more guitar-based heaviness found on Frontline Assembly's
Millennium or many of the Ministry albums. While I enjoy them, they always
feel a bit rigid to me. I can't stand KMFDM or My Life With the Thrill Kill
Kult.
...the point is, I'm able to find very solid resources & communities for
dark ambient, whereas with Foetus my searches haven't yielded much (beyond
the official Foetus website). So if anyone could provide me footing for this
particular world of industrial (maybe webzines & distros), I'd appreciate
it.
