Post by Paul's penis is HELL, boy.Post by Hans-Martin BundeshundSome samples from 'My life with the thrill kill kult' I found sounds nice,
but not hard or rough enough for me. Still to much pop.
Early MLWTTKK is very good late-80s industrial (specifically, the album
"I See Good Spirits and I See Bad Spirits" and their first couple 12"s,
compiled on the TVT reissue of "Kooler than Jesus"), and you may like
those a lot better. after that, they kinda morphed into a cracked-out
disco band.
Quick TKK review:
- I See Good Spirits. . . - I'm gonna agree with Paul for one of the first
times.. a few tracks are skippable, though. Contains the definitive (in my
opinion) TKK song, "...And this is what the devil does!" The track "These
Remains" is excellent, but I don't see it being talked about much.
- Kooler than Jesus - a few skippable tracks, but otherwise it's pretty
good.. not too different from "I See Good Spirits"
- Confessions of a Knife - again, a few skippable tracks, but a little more
solid overall than the previous releases. Best songs would be "Ride the
Mindway", "Rivers of Blood, Years of Darkness" and "Burning Dirt"
- Sexplosion - a lot less religious reference.. TKK gets a little more
sleazy with this release. All the singles from this album are good, plus the
songs "Dream Baby", "Princess of the Queens", and "A Continental Touch". a
number of good songs, but possibly my least favorite TKK
- 13 Above the Night - Not too many skippable tracks here, my most favorite
TKK album. With the exception of the track "Dirty Little Secrets", it's
chock-full of good songs. excellent album...
- Hit and Run Holiday - this is a fun album.. kinda reminds me of what I
know about the 50's and 60's. I'd say it's the follow-up to Sexplosion. "Hot
Blood Risin'" is a very energetic song.. just a fun album overall
- Dirty Little Secrets - remix album - don't have it yet, but one of the
"Hard Fast and Beautiful" tracks is good
- A Crime for All Seasons - I don't know why this got bad reviews, because
it's a pretty good album overall. Not quite relative to previous TKK
material, but not so different either. Lots of guitar, more harsh sounding
than previous TKK. pretty solid album, in my opinion
- Reincarnation of Luna - I haven't bought this yet, but I've heard a few
tracks from it and I've liked what I heard. Seems like a mix of smooth and
crunchy. Nowhere near "Confessions" material. Check out "Girl Without a
Planet", "Temptation Serenade", and "The Untouchable Class"
- Golden Pillz - overall, a waste of a remix album.. a few decent remixes i
guess.. that's about all i can say about it
- Elektrik Inferno Live - pretty good live CD, has a bunch of older material
on it, but it makes me wonder how much of Groovie's voice is actually being
sung live or played off a DAT.
