Perhaps it's true that usenet is dead. I remember posting to RMI in
the mid-to-late 90s and there were 100-150 posts per day on average
and now it seems that there's not even 5 a day? Did web forums,
livejournal and so on kill usenet? Has this been going on in other
usenet newsgroups over the past few years?
I haven't read/posted on RMI or the other newsgroups I used to
frequent in over four years but it's really sad to see how utterly
dead they are now. I'm sure that the mp3/movie/binary newsgroups are
doing a lot of "business" but what became of the text-based ones like
this one?
Where did everyone go?
