hi all,

a while back I found a website which listed lots of electronic
artists, and had one cool feature: type in the name of an artist and
it brings back a graphical screen with lots of similar artists with
connections drawn between them.

does anybody remember the url of this website?

Gnod does something that is pretty close to what you are describing.
Only it's not limited to electronic artists, you have to type in three
of them, there are no connections drawn between them on the output
screen, the names of closely related artists stand just close to each
other, and it's not based on similarities of artists rather than the
preferences of the users, meaning that related artists are likely to
appeal to the same people (which is something quite different from being
similar ... you know, some people just have diverse tastes).

Apart from these differences, www.gnoosic.com could be the site you were
looking for.
