Delerium, the masters of blending dance, pop, goth and new age music
who have sold over one million records internationally with over
200,000 sold in the Canada alone, will embark on their first ever tour
in support of their newest work "Chimera" (Nettwerk).

Over the last few years Delerium have produced two runaway dance
singles: "Silence," featuring Sarah McLachlan on vocals, and
"Innocente," which borrowed vocals from Sixpence None The Richer's
Leigh Nash. With the band's fourth Nettwerk release, Chimera,
Delerium look to repeat their international success with "After All"
featuring vocals from Jaƫl (of Swiss band Lunik).

While the core of Delerium is one man, Front Line Assembly front man
Bill Leeb, the collaborations are a critical part of Delerium's
ever-evolving sound. With that in mind, Leeb has asked frequent
collaborator and Front Line Assembly partner Rhys Fulber to join him
on the tour. Another key element to Delerium's music are the guest
vocalists that have been a part of their many records, ranging from
the aforementioned Sarah McLachlan to Julee Cruise to Matthew Sweet to
the Mediaeval Baebes and many more. Delerium will be bringing Kristy
Thirsk and Shelley Harland out for the trek.

Rhys Fulber will be pulling double duty as his pseudonym, Conjure One,
will open throughout the 18 date trek, with Chemda acting as his
vocalist for the duration of the tour. An as of yet unnamed third act
will be confirmed shortly.

While the notion of a Delerium tour in itself is both a special and
extremely rare event, the artists involve have planned a full evening
of entertainment both audibly and visually that they describe as
"elegant" and with a recognizable Delerium "style."

Dates are:

Sept. 3 Vancouver, BC - Commodore Ballroom
4 Seattle, WA - The Showbox
5 Portland, OR - Crystal Ballroom
6 San Francisco, CA - Bimbo's 365 Club
8 Los Angeles, CA - El Rey Theatre

What about Conjure One? I only recently heard about this
project, any comments?
My review:
"Conjure one - sleep/tears from the moon (Nettwerk)
Not a lot of people probably know that one half of Delerium had left the band
before 'Silence' became such a massive hit, but Rhys Fulber split from Bill
Leeb after recording the album from which 'Silence' is taken and got none of
the glory. This is his comeback and he heads straight for the top of the
trance scene with the main mix on this single, which is an Ian Van Dahl mix of
'sleep'. It's basically all you'd expect, tired cheesy chart trance that's not
worthy of Mr Fulber. Music fans should just skip the first track and go
straight to the two mixes of 'tears from the moon', which features the vocals
of Sinead O'Connor (who seems to be everywhere these days). The "hybrid
twisted on the terrace mix V.2" by mike truman and chris healings is a
throbbing monster of a track, with a great beat, a lush and intense sound and
topped with a fabulous vocal performance from Sinead. The Robbie Rivera mix,
which has a strong old skool flavour, is slightly less impressive, but it's
still a fairly good dance mix and still has that great vocal. "

Too bad it's 10 years too late... I would love to have seen them and tried
countless times to book them but Bill always had an excuse not to do it -
Now... well, I'm sure a lot of newage fans will come out and if I lived
nearby any of the dates, I may go out of curiousity, but there's that line
that the later Derlium crossed (not necessarily bad) but it moved it out of
what was popular in at least this scene...
cest la vie

Has anyone picked up the new Delerium? Is it anything like the
last one, Poem?
It's uber-pop. I couldn't stand the majority of the album. The only tracks
I like tend to be the ones Rhys contributed to... After All (the single) is
really good, with a dark vibe I really dig (more so on the remix from the
albums second disc).
Which raises a general question or two:

Who is planning on going to see Delerium?

-and-

Assuming you are going, will you post what it was like? I'm sitting on
the fence and would (in any case) love to see more folks post about
their impressions of shows. Although, maybe in this case RMI isn't the
most appropriate list for Delerium.

use to me!
