Hey everyone. Is sampling Bill Clinton's "I did not have sexual
relations..." speech in a commercialized song legal? From what I've
been reading president's speeches are public domain so you can use
them but I wanted to get a little clarification. Thanks for your help!

Ministry did it repeatedly for George W. Bush on their last few albums.
I can't see that a man making music that is far less well-known would
run into any problems.

But then, I am no legal scholar. That's just my opinion.

It depends on who owns the copyright to the recording, but I'd guess that
that clip and the Bush ones are public domain. So there shouldn't be a
problem.
