I recently hosted a show on my local college radio station, a two-hour
"artist feature" all about Frank Tovey. I realize he's not strictly
industrial, but his influence in industrial/dance and experimental
electronic music was definitely felt. This was something I have wanted
to do since his death back in 2002, but I never had the time. With the
new 4 Disc retrospective I figured I had to do it now, with more
material available and my free time dwindling even more. I wasn't able
to prepare as much as I had hoped but I think the show came out pretty
good.
If you are a fan you might enjoy the look back at his work. If you are
unfamiliar with his work I think this is a good introduction to his
music and his life. And it's free, you don't even have to buy the new
retrospective (although I have to say, the videos, the documentary and
the live footage on the DVDs are worth the price and then there's the
rare and unreleased material on the music discs.
