Hi all,
I hope you don't mind the mass bulletin but it's been a while since I
posted one and I wanted to say hi before we head off on the North
American tour.
As you probably know (some of you don't, as I discovered recently) that
VNV Nation are about to head off on the Formation Tour of North America
starting this Friday (May 6th) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida before
heading off all over the US, to Canada and rounding up in Mexico city
at the end of June.
All the dates and info for the shows can be found on our website,
Metropolis Records website or our Myspace page. It's going to be our
longest tour in North America and we're really looking forward to it.
We have a new stage show and an expanded line up on stage.
Unfortunately, one of our keyboarders Vasi had to bail out shortly
before the tour after being diagnosed with a semi-collapsed lung but is
recovering well. We are happy to say that our old friend Christian from
Icon of Coil will stand in for him for the first few weeks of the tour
and Vasi is making a good recovery and should be able to make it for
the last few weeks of the tour.
We've many new songs to play and, of course, we'll be playing a good
selection of older tracks. The big special we have planned is that at
all the LA area shows, both San Fran and both NYC shows we will be
playing completely different set lists on each night. None of the set
lists will be the same as the other shows on the tour. We want to play
as much as possible on each of these nights so that fans can get to
hear songs we're not playing as part of the normal set on this tour as
well as songs they have rarely or never heard performed live. Instead
of playing the songs everyone wants on both nights we're spreading them
out over each of the shows so the sets will be a good mix of VNV
material going back 10 years. We did this at one show on the Euro tour
and as anyone who was there can attest, we played some songs that no
one expected including 2 that sent people into a frenzy. Let's see what
happens this time...
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is all for the moment.
We hope to see you at one of the shows on the tour.
Best wishes,
Ronan
